Grandpa Lole

This is my Grandpa Lole. He is one of the most influential people in my life.

Ever since i can remember he has been a rock. Strong and Sturdy.

He is kind, nice and gentle to those he loves and love him. At the same time, he can be a roaring tiger ready to pounce upon those he feels are a threat to him or his family.

He is sharply astute and and very intellingent. His devotion has been his family and by the sweat of his brow raised eleven childred. Amongst them my father, Rito Olivas.

He has made mistakes in life, like all, but unlike all, he recognizes them. Some of those mistakes he is sorry for, while others, he would do again....(can not expand on this further at this time).

In my early childhood, i saw this man run his ranch very cunningly. He raised cattle, and harvested corn and beans. He was one of the most respected, and at times feared, man in the town of Santa Rosalia. I spent many summers with him in my early childhood and i got to know him very well. He thought me many things about ranching and working with animals. I learned from him how to work hard.

He worked his ranch until an illness forced him to give up that life. He sold everything he had and moved to the city where he was close to doctors.

He curretly (2008) lives with his daughter Dora in Chihuahua. He is almost 88 years old and his health is well. Hopefully i can go see him soon.

( My Grandfather died on August 28, 2008. Unfortunately i was not able to go see him, but did go to his funeral. RIP Grandpa....I love you )
Jesus.
